Recipe for Cream Scones

Cranberry Chutney

Favorite - This is an all time favorite

We love these scones, except that we have to eat them with Devon cream, lemon curd and raspberry jam. We only make them when we have Devon cream around, so it is just as well that this is hard to find in the States.

Cream Scones
(Gourment Cookbook ???)

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp honey
2/3 cup cream

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
Rub in the butter.
Mix in the cream and honey.
Work into a soft dough.
Make about 12 round scones, about 1/2" thick.
Bake at 450F on a buttered baking sheet for about 10-15 minutes.
