A Hong Kong Fish Tank Story

A friend of mine went on a family trip to China and Hong Kong. The custom at one market, was to buy your fish, from one vendor and then have it cooked to your taste at a nearby restaurant. His mother, who spoke fluent Cantonese, had chosen one particular fish from a tank and the fishmonger was holding it as she described, to the restauranteur, how she wanted it prepared. As she went on, the fishmonger scowled, then tossed the fish back into the tank saying, "Waster of a perfectly good fish!"
